…in the tea lounge across the street from the Park Slope Food Coop working on the Lesedi website. A bunch of diligent folks sippin tea, wine and beer, clanking away on their laptops as Radiohead and Santogold play in the background.
A guy starts setting up a deejay-looking table. And he has a guitar covered in stickers. And there are lights attached to the table. Suddenly loud – very very loud noise comes out of this setup. After the initial shock, we geeks realize that this man has connected his guitar, deejay turntables and lights together for a multi-media musical demonstration. He plays. It’s loud, but eventually, we all eat it up.
I tipped him.
But I didn’t buy his music (very cutely sold for twelve buck inside a squeeky duck on a usb drive – reusable).
He’s taking a break and now they’re playing my song…”Going On” by Gnarls Barkley.
