A Style Saturday so grand, it’s taking all the way til Monday to begin to come out. And will continue to grow as the days go by.

What can I say…I’ve been so stunned lately. So emotionally affected by the passing of such an amazing artist. He really gave his life for all of us who love him and his music, his message, his life work, his moves. He embodies all that it means to really give your all and to believe in yourself. I’m still pretty raw about it all. Slowly, as I come to grips, I will share some more. But for now…I grieve.

Okay, I’ll state the obvious: sometimes, homegirl can come across as a little bit wacky to many people when it comes to the way she dresses. But I just don’t care. She embodies freedom. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, and isn’t afraid to express the multitude of her personality.
What can I say? I dig her style.

Doesn’t she just remind you of the lady you wanna kick it with?

At age 65, this model and actress is one who has maintained the high bar of style for women. She’s one of those women I enjoy because she embraces the aging process gracefully. So comfortable in her own skin.

Style is something you wear even when you’re naked. There’s an air about someone with great style – keyword: effortless. You can see style pouring out of this woman’s eyes.

Cheers to timeless grace, attitude and that breezy gait. Remember, laughter keeps you glowing!

Today kicks off the launch of the allisoncaviness blog’s Style Saturday. Every Saturday, I will (try to) honor the expression of style from a person. Any person deemed worthy of Style Saturday note. Since this is the very first of such posts, I figured I’d start at the top with, whom else? none other than the #1 stylista, the beautiful, intelligent, classy, sassy, loving and chic Michelle Obama.

I mean, you can’t not love this woman’s style. She embodies everything it means to be a woman. She keeps her silhouettes classic, respectable – with a twist of edge, curiosity and whimsy. Her look is always confident. She stays poised…and she always appears ready to run! Even in an evening gown. I love that in a woman.

In charge, yet delicate. Sharp. Clean. Light.

Winning smile. Squashing any and all negativity.

And what looks best on a woman? Someone to share it all with. A spiritual reflection.
